TID ROLLOVER COUNTDOWN

STS would like to remind all utilities, meters and vending systems manufacturers of the TID Rollover Timelines. All STS prepayment meters will be affected by TID roll over on the 24/11/2024. Any tokens generated after this date and utilizing the 24bit TID will be rejected by the meters as being old tokens as the TID value embedded in the token will have reset back to 0. For further guidelines, please refer to the TID document STS1800-3.

The Standard Transfer Specification (STS) has become recognised as the only globally accepted open standard for prepayment systems, ensuring inter-operability between system components from different manufacturers of prepayment systems. The application of the technology is licensed through the STS Association, thus ensuring that the appropriate encryption key management practices are applied to protect the security of the prepayment transactions of utilities operating to protect the security of the prepayment transactions of utilities operating STS systems.
