STS means interoperability between any certified STS compliant electricity dispensers and electricity vending systems, regardless of who supplied the equipment. To use STS compliant equipment, utilities do not need to be STSA members, but the equipment suppliers will need to be STSA members and the specific equipment (meters and vending systems) must have STS Compliance Certificates.
